Visit Cabbage Key FL

As our busy season in Southwest Florida begins, people start looking for ways to visit Cabbage Key FL to have a great meal on this remote island that can only be reached by boat.  Gulf Island Tours offers several memorable ways to visit Cabbage Key FL.  If you are staying in Fort Myers, Port Charlotte, North Port, Venice or Sarasota, Florida, your visit to Cabbage Key can begin with free limousine transfers to one of three boats in our fleet.  Our double decker pontoon boat is $125 per hour and hold up to 10 people.  This is our most economical boat tour to Cabbage Key.  The double decker pontoon, The "H2O Limo" has large sofas on the bow, large covered areas towards the stern with a small kitchen and bathroom for your convenience.  The next option for a visit to Cabbage Key is a yacht charter.  We now have two in our fleet.  We have a 45 foot Carver Voyager, the "Reel Keel" that comfortably holds twelve people.  With a luxurious salon (living room) plus twoo staterooms and two full bathrooms, there is plenty of room inside of this vessel.  Also, there is a lower helm station with a circular sofa and a fully equipped galley kitchen.  Up stairs in the upper helm station, there is a large circular seating area around the dining area, a love seat, and even a seperate seating area which faces to the stern (the back) of the yacht so you can watch the dolphins jumping on the way to Cabbage Key, FL.  A full day charter on this vessel is $1500 but can be chartered to visit Cabbage Key at $200 per hour.  The largest and newest vessel in our fleet is a 58 foot Sea Ray.  This will easily hold up to sixteen people and can be chartered for $3200 for a full day.  This is your fastest way to visit Cabbage Key, FL and is definitely very luxurious with three staterooms, a large kitchen and salon, and an enourmous fly bridge up top.  So, however you choose to visit Cabbage Key FL, Gulf Island Tours has you covered.  Bookmark this page at http://www.VisitCabbageKeyFL.com or visit our Youtube channel and see a short video of the 45 Carver Yacht on a recent visit to Cabbage Key, FL.

Fort Myers Yacht

People call us all the time looking for the perfect Fort Myers Yacht charter.  Our advice is always the same!  If you want to charter a yacht around Fort Myers, we would advise you to choose a northern itinerary becauset Lake Okeechobee keeps being continually released there around Fort Myers, Florida.  Hopefully, the Army Corps of Engineers can figure out a way to resolve this but because they are releasing Lake O during rainy season right around Fort Myers beach, we have moved our Fort Myers Yacht itineraries north and we couldn't be happier!

Believe us when we say, Captiva Island is much much nicer and as you pass Cabbage Key and Cayo Costa, you will reach Boca Grande and Gasparilla Island which is not affected by Lake O releases.  Though sometimes during our wetter months, Charlotte Harbor can make water conditions less than pristine in which case, it's best to do your yacht charter even further north to Little Gasparilla Island and Manasota Key.  One of the most beautiful swimming beaches is on the southern end of Manasota Key called Stump Pass Beach State Park.  This is an area where the water is rarely cloudy because there are no large bays or rivers anywhere close to these areas.

Prior to moving all of our vessels up north, away from Fort Myers we used to own Oasis Boat Rentals. Though the mangroves and wildlife are great around these areas, and though Sanibel Island can be a great place to shop and have dinner, the waters here are defiitely not clear and pristine anymore....which is why we moved our business to Englewood, Florida.  For folks looking for a Fort Myers Yacht charter, we can now pick your group up in our Chrysler Super Stretch limousine anywhere around Fort Myers and bring you to the marina on Manasota Key.  For all full day yacht charters, we offer complimentary limo service within a 60 mile radius of Englewood, Florida.  This means our yacht charter areas include Venice, Placida, Punta Gorda, North Port, Port Charltte, Cape Coral and Fort Myers, Florida!

So, if you are looking for the perfect Fort Myers Yacht charter for your next special occasion, look no further!  Bookmark this page for quick and eay access to our website!  http://www.FortMyersYacht.com.

Visit Boca Grande Florida

If you want to visit Boca Grande Florida, Gulf Island Tours now offers professional photography and drone videos to memorialize your boat charter vacation.  We are partners with www.GulfBeachPortraits.com and people are very excited that they can have their family portraits made while on vacation.  If you are visiting Southwest Florida, you can also do a boat charter on our double decker pontoon boat and have your portraits made on Stump Pass beach or on Little Gasparilla Island.  When we cruise down to visit Boca Grande FL, you can also have your portaits made there.  Boca Grade is the place many celebrities have vacation homes so you can only imagine the scenic backdrops for your family portaits!

The prices for a yacht charter are $180 per hour and for the H2O Limo it's $90 per hour.  Both vessels come with the captain and include fuel.  We also offer free luxury limousine transfers within a 45 mile radius of Port Charlotte, Florida so you can indulge in your favorite adult beverages with no worries what so ever.  If you book an overnight yacht charter, you can choose several ports of call on your yacht charter itinerary!  We can cruise south of our main headquarters in Manasota Key to Little Gasparilla Island, to Gasparilla Island and then Boca Grande, Florida in the morning.  People love to rent a golf cart on Gasparilla Island in Boca Grande to ride around the island and dine in one of the many fantastic restaurants.  Our favorite restaurant when visiting Boca Grande is South Beach Bar and Grille which is located right on the Gulf of Mexico on the southern end of Gasparilla Island.

The next stops on your yacht charter itinerary, if you choose our two night Gold Package might include Cayo Costa State Park and then lunch at Cabbage Key where Jimmy Buffet wrote Cheeseburger in Paradise.  This island is truly an Old Florida paradise with hiking trails behind the restaurant with enormous tress that are hundreds of years old!  That afternoon, we will make our way south to Captiva Island and dock at Tween Waters Resort!  Once there, you can enjoy all the resort amenities and restaurants.  Be sure to check out the hermit crab race for cool night time entertainment!

Ports of call for the pontoon boat can include Venice, Florida for a full day boat charter.  If the Gulf is calm, you will get to cruise by all four beaches on Manasota Key which are Stump Pass beach, Blind Pass Beach, Englewood Beach and Manasota Key Beach.  We will dock up in Venice for a few hours at The Crow's Next Marina.  Venice Beach is right across the street is you want to swim and find some sharks teeth which Venice Beach is known for!  The Crow's Nest also offer free bicycles if you want to tour the area and do some shopping and dining.  We can also do the same itinerary as the yacht charter and go south to Gasparilla Island and visit Boca Grande FL and if time permits, we can cruise on the pontoon boat to Cabbage Key.  On the way back to Manasota Key, you will get to enjoy a sunset cruise on your boat charter.

Visit Cabbage Key Florida

On your next Florida vacation, plan a yacht charter to visit Cabbage Key Florida!  While there are many cool barrier islands off the coast of Southwest, Florida, one of our very favorite to visit is definitely Cabbage Key.  The scenic natural beauty is extremely hard to beat and Cabbage Key can only be reached by boat.  Perfect spot for lunch and dinner in a quaint old Florida paradise.  Be sure to hike the trails behind the restaurant for a tour alongside enormous trees that many would describe as "enchanted" even "surreal".....like nothing you have ever seen before!  Cabbage Key is a very unique island unlike any you have ever visited on any vacation.  Another island close by is Cayo Costa State Park.  Definitely worth a visit to swim, sunbathe and do some shelling.

Today, it was 85 degrees and the Gulf of Mexico was perfectly calm.  A family had booked a full day yacht charter to visit Cabbage Key and Cayo Costa, FL. The kids aboard the boat were thrilled to hike the trails at Cayo Costa and found more shells than they could hold.  In our opinion, winter and spring is the best time to visit Cayo Costa and to visit Cabbage Key Florida because the water is clear during Florida's less rainy months which are in July, August & September.  After helping the family load up their bounty of shells, we all made our way to Cabbage Key.  The sun was setting so we gave everyone flashlight to walk the trails at Cabbage Key.  The kids were delighted seeing the huge trees that must be hundreds of years old as they wandered around shining their flashlight up into the huge canopy of trees.  Along the trail, we saw Gopher turtles and also, the tail of a huge iguana as it scurried into the forest!  That was plenty of excitement so they headed inside for dinner.

Without a doubt, when folks visit Cabbage Key FL, they feel like they have been to a whole "other worldy kind of place" because of the tropical foilage, the boats sailing by, and the abundance of wildlife all leave a lasting impression of paradise! Of course, everyone should plan to climb the water tower for the best view on the whole island.  So, if you are planning a trip this year to Southwest Florida, book a yacht charter with us and we will take you to unspolied islands you would expect to find much further south of United States.  Bookmark our blog at http://www.VisitCabbageKeyFlorida.com for easy access to our website.

Guide and Charter - Customizable Florida Boat Charter Itineraries

We had an extraordinary Christmas light boat charter last night for a family of four requesting a private guide and charter to tour several exciting destinations with a customized itinerary.  The family onboard the charter were parents with their college aged children so they were all up for a boating adventure!  They lived in Punta Gorda so their tour began riding in our Chrysler 300 Super Stretch limousine for their free transfers from Punta Gorda to Englewood. FL.  On all eight hour boat charters, whether on our yacht or the pontoon boat, we offer free limousine transfers to and from either vessel.  A lot of people might be scared to go on a boat charter at night but with Captain Stuart Keel at the helm, people can relax and fully enjoy their personalized guide and charter with no worries.  We all disembarked Chadwick Cove Marina in Englewood, FL at 3:30 pm stopping at Stump Pass Marina for fuel.

Upon arrival, we were greeted by a bunch of huge pelicans and even got to see an Albino Pelican which is a very rare sight!  After taking pictures of the pelicans, the family decided to go into Stump Pass Restaurant and Tiki Bar to order some food to go for their long journey to South Seas resort located on Captiva Island.  Along the way, we stopped so they could enjoy time on Gasparilla Island.  They did some shelling on the pristine white sand beach and took pictures while they watched the sun slip down into the Gulf of Mexico.  Just after the sun had set, they came back onboard for the 90 minute journey to see the fantastic Christmas light display on Captiva Island at South Seas Resort.  Florida sunsets on the west coast are not only colorful, after the sun goes down we usually have a lot of light for at least 30 minutes all along the horizon.  As we passed Cabbage Key and Cayo Costa Islands, they were still visible.  We proceeded to Captiva Island and arrived at our first destination around 6:30.  South Seas Resort certainly didn't disappoint!

All the palm trees were lit along with thirty or more Christmas trees but Santa  on his throne was the most extravagant display.  There were elves frolicking in the fake snow, a thirty foot tall outdoor television screen playing Frosty the Snowman and huge grills makings smores.  Along with that, all of the yachts in the marina were decorated which made for a very colorful light display.   But, we had another light show to see in Punta Gorda where both the captain and the family lived.  Though we didn't know this fine family beforehand, they explained they had done a lot of research before selecting Captain Stuart for their guide and charter since they wanted a night time cruise. We cruised the next two hours through Charlotte Harbor star gazing.  It was a very clear night in Southwest Florida and we all saw something spectacular we had never seen before.  While gazing up into the sky, we saw dozens of huge white birds flocking around the pontoon boat.  It was truly amazing since the solid white birds seemed to almost glow in the dark against the backdrop of the dark night sky.

Around 10:00 pm, we began slowly cruising through the canals in Punta Gorda which were just as amazing as the Christmas light display on Captiva Island.  In Punta Gorda Isles, there are miles and miles of manmade canals that were built more then 50 years ago.  The residents there spare no expense decorating their back yards which creates one of the most phenomenal Christmas light displays one could ever experience because the lights are all mirrored by the water.  The boat charter ended at their house, located at the end of one of the canals.  The family said it was one of the most amazing journeys they had ever experienced and want to book the boat charter next year to do the same thing again!

Private Yacht Florida

There are many special occasions in life where booking a private yacht in Florida would be the perfect venue.  During the month of December, we got a call from a SOSH girl's club in Englewood, FL requesting a private yacht charter to go to Venice Florida for the Christmas Boat Parade.  They booked our Bronze Package for their private yacht Florida event.  Since there were many in the club, they were able to split the cost of the private yacht charter.  They embarked on the cruise at Chadwick's Cove Marina at 4:00 pm.  The marina is on Manasota Key which is just across the street from Englewood Beach.  As we cruised up the Gulf's Intracoastal waterway, the weather was calm and beautiful as we made our way towards Venice.  It took just over an hour to reach our destination and we picked out the perfect spot for this private yacht Florida event!  The ladies then went downstairs, into the spacious salon area and exchanged their Christmas presents.  They were definitely having a loads of fun laughing and having cocktails while opening their gifts.  A lot of people wouldn't think of booking a private yacht in Florida for an event like this and they are really missing out on a lot of fun!  After they opened their gifts, it was time for the Christmas Boat Parade to begin.  Our yacht is a 45 foot Carver Voyager with and interior and exterior roomy enough that people can enjoy their special occassions whether it's a holiday or birthday party but it would even be perfect for a baby shower or a girls night out.

After we watched a glorious Southwest Florida sunset, the boat parade started passing right beside our boat.  Several ladies watched from the flybridge while other sat in the cockpit on the stern of the vessel.  All were delighted to have a front row seat for the boat parade.  The parade was delightful as there were many boats to look at with fabulous multi-colored light displays.  When the parade ended, each of the ladies had each brought a dish and so they put their spread out in the galley.  They had everything from chips with fancy dips to cakes and pies along with loads of chicken wings.  There was enough food there to feed a small army.  They had also made chocolate pudding rum shots with coconut.....something we had never seen before!  When they had finished their meal, they all came up into the flybridge to have another cocktail and to enjoy the leisurely cruise back to Englewood, FL.  During this time, we played several concert DVD's from the 70's, 80's 90's on the huge flatscreen TV which they all enjoyed tremendously.  They were all glad they booked a private yacht charter for their special event and are planning to book our H2O-Limo pontoon boat for their next event.

They disembarked around 9:30 pm and thanked us for having such a wonderful time!  We didn't realize it, but one of the ladies was a little under the weather and after the parade, had gone down to one of the staterooms for a snooze on the cruise back from Venice, Florida.  She told us it was the best nap she had ever taken in her entire life!  That is the great thing about a florida yacht charter.  There are several zones onboard our spacious vessel so people can do whatever they want during their private Florida yacht charter.

Book a yacht charter for the Gulf view you only usually see in travel magazines!

When visiting Southwest Florida, people expect to see Florida's diverse landscapes, waters and wildlife but as tour guides, we are often asked where to go to see the Gulf views that are postcard worthy.  In our experience, the Gulf view we think is the very best can only be fully appreciated from the vantage point of a boat!  A boat charter or boat rental is the best way to visit all of our pristine barrier islands such as Boca Grande, Cabbage Key, Cayo Costa along with the islands to our south such as Captiva Island and Sanibel island.  Without question, Captiva and Sanibel islands are more well known and though the gulf view along these banks are wonderful, the more spectacular gulf views are the islands to the north.

Factors that affect the gulf view on the southern barrier islands are Lake Ocheechobee releases during rainy season along with Charlotte Harbor which extends 20 miles inland up to Punta Gorda and Port Charlotte.  Charlotte Harbor, though teaming with wildlife is not the clear water people want to swim in due to all the tannins coming from the Peace River which also connects to Charlotte Harbor.  However, if you travel 20 miles out of the harbor, you can easily reach Gasparilla Island and see some of the beautiful clear water and white sand beaches Southwest Florida is known for!  Indeed, Boca Grande has some of the best beaches and Gulf views along the coast with unusually clear jade green waters which sometimes extend into the mangrove channels.  It's a hop, skip and a jump over to Don Pedro island from there but definitely remember to slow down because there are lots of manatees in these areas! Also, If renting a boat, remember to be very, very careful at Boca Grande Pass due to strong rip currents and sudden depth changes.

If you charter a boat to the north of Gasparilla Island, you will happen upon a delightful spit of sand known as Stump Pass Beach State Park!  The winding mangrove channels around this area are also unusually clear because these areas are far enough away not to be affected by the rivers or run off from Lake O.  The Gulf view from this island is, in our opinion the very best in all of Southwest Florida....also known as "The Buccaneer Coast." This is a great time for us to entertain everyone with stories from http://www.whotours.com to learn about the RICH history of this island!

From here, you may decide you want to venture a little more north.  If the Gulf is calm, you will pass all the beautiful unspoiled beaches along Manasota Key which includes Englewood Beach, Blind Pass Beach, and then finally Manasota Key Beach.  On the far northern end of Manasota Key is a quiant and beautiful town called Venice Florida.  Once there, you can indulge in great seafood at Marina Jacks!  The Gulf view in Venice Florida is truly amazing, especially if you decide to take a walk along the rocky entrance into Venice.  These areas, though man made, offer long fishing piers and direct access to a gorgeous public beach area.

For the ultimate Southwest Florida vacation, try one of our overnight yacht charters so you can visit all of these gorgeous islands at your own leisure.  The Gulf view is incredible when we have calm weather and this area of Florida is very fortunate in that regard.  We have mild winters and mostly dry weather here from December through May.  This is why so many snowbirds from the north flock to Southwest Florida during these months.  The Gulf view and the sunsets are dramatic and very colorful on most days!  So, whether you choose to rent a boat or do a yacht charter, you can expect to see dolphins, along with a wide variety of birds including Blue Herons, Snowy Egrets, Black Skimmers and Ospreys.  So reserve a boat rental or book an overnight yacht charter with Gulf Island Tours to see the Gulf view most people only dream about!  Bookmark this blog at www.TheGulfView.com for quick and easy access to our webite!
