Gulf Island Tours - Gearing Up For Busy Season in Southwest Florida!

This year, escape old man winter from Montreal or Quebec Canada and take your family on the ultimate Florida vacation with Gulf Island Tours. Leave the snow and ice in Niagra Falls and visit Englewood, Gasparilla Island and Charlotte Harbor in beautiful South West Florida. Gulf Island Tours, located in Englewood Florida can show you all the best ways to really see the whole area with yacht charters, boat tours, boat rentals and even limousine service within a 30 mile radius of Punta Gorda! We can also deliver your boat rental to you in Port Charlotte, Cape Coral, Little Gasparilla Island and surrounding areas any day of the week. Let us know twenty four hours in advance, and we can deliver your boat rental to anywhere in Charlotte County and other parts of Lee County within a 30 mile radius (for an extra fee) to any public wildlife ramp. We will also assist you in getting to your condo or beach house on Little Gasparilla Island.  Our weekly boat rental rates are the lowest in Charlotte County.  Choose from either a 20 foot Sundance or our 19 foot Carolina Skiff for a great day on the water fishing, shelling or sunbathing, on your own. Another great option is to rent our double decker pontoon boat and you can have a group as large as 12 on the best boat rental in Florida. This pontoon boat has a bathroom, small kitchen, plenty of shaded areas as well as sirius satellite radio and two LED flatscreen TV's! So get out of Quebec Canada this winter and let your neighbors in Montreal Canada build snowmen if they want. Get on a plane, fly from Niagra Falls and let us pick you up by limo at the airport in Fort Myers for the start of your ultimate Florida vacation. You can also fly from Montreal Canada to the airport in Sarasota Florida!

It's hard to believe that while your friends will be surrounded by snow and ice in Quebec Canada, you could be relaxing on a sunny Florida beach with your favorite cocktail in hand! Instead of a bare boat rental, if you'd rather sit back and let us do all the navigating, consider a day charter on our H2O Limo with a guide for a nominal extra fee! You'll love this spacious and comfortable 30 foot double decker pontoon boat. This is a fun and convenient option by day or by night and you have many itinerary options to choose from. For a relaxing eco-tour, we can take you to see the mangroves along the Peace River all the way up to the http://nav-a-gator.com/ to hang out, grab a bite to eat and have a cold brew in an Old Florida wilderness. On our return, we can visit the beautiful areas that lie along the Peace River where you can see a plethora of wild animals, ranging from manatees and dolphins to alligators and bald eagles. The pontoon boat is a shallow running boat so often, you get to see these animals up close (so don't forget your cameras!) ! Whatever option you choose, Gulf Island Tours has everything you need for a fun filled Florida vacation!

Another great vacation option for Canadians from Montreal would be our overnight yacht charters. Let us show you true southern hospitality and white glove service. Plan a yacht charter with Gulf Island Tours and we will pick you and your group up in our Chrysler 300 Super Stretch Limo to start your boat charter off right. This is a perfect proposal or special anniversary trip! Choose one of our yacht charter packages or we can customize a Florida yacht charter tour just for you. This is a great way to familiarize yourself with the beautiful Gulf Islands such as Boca Grande, Cayo Costa and Cabbage Key or up to Venice, Florida for an overnight yacht charter. We also offer two and three night cruise itineraries to Captiva Island and Little Gasparilla Island or to Captiva and Sanibel Islands to our south. Whatever itinerary you choose, come prepared to have some serious fun in the sun!

We know Niagra Falls is a great place to visit but what is more fun than touring tropical islands and catching some rays in the middle of winter? Be the envy of all of your friends in Quebec Canada when you post pictures on your Facebook lying out in the sun on our enormous sunpad on the bow of the yacht!  Remember Gulf Island Tours for boat rentals, boat charters, yacht charters and for limousine service on your next visit to Florida! Just say no to snow and hello to sunny Florida! Bookmark our website at www.GulfislandTours.com

Visit Gasparilla Island

We took a great trip out to visit Gasparilla Island Florida today from Punta Gorda! We took a couple from Canada with us on this beautiful journey through Charlotte Harbor. During the hour long journey, we passed Pine Island and Bokellia on the port side. The wildlife along the way was amazing! Pelicans were everywhere and large fish were jumping from the harbor just inches from our boat! The couple plans to rent that boat for the weekend and wanted Captain Stuart to show them around and let them get familiar with the waterways and navigational equipment. After about 45 minutes, we were passing Cayo Costa on the port side and we then came to our destination for the day - Boca Grande.

Gasparilla Island is one of many barrier islands in southwest Florida. It straddles the border of Charlotte and Lee Counties. Boca Grande is it's largest town and is also the location of the Gasparilla Island State Park. This island has been a very interesting part of Florida folklore because of a pirate named José Gaspar.  Gasparilla Island has been a popular tourist destination since the early 20th century.  If you look to the west, you see the beautiful Gulf of Mexico and to the south and east is Charlotte Harbor which is the second largest harbor in the state of Florida. To the north is Gasparilla Sound and also another great destination in it's own right is Little Gasparilla Island.

Until the 19th century, Gasparilla Island was mostly uninhabited.  In fact, the only permanent residents were local fishing families. According to pirate folklore, Jose Gaspar had his base on the island and stowed away a lot of his treasures there. Supposedly, the treasure is still hidden somewhere on the island having never been found.  So book a trip to visit Gasparilla Island and be sure to remember Gulf Island Tours!  Let us take you on a treasure hunt in paradise on your next vacation.  Bookmark www.GulfislandTours.com for quick access to our website!

Visit Cayo Costa Florida

Finally, there is room for your whole family when you book our dog friendly water taxi for your beach trips from Punta Gorda to visit Cayo Costa Florida! Our H20 Limo Water Taxi formally invites you and your pooches (and we think it’s about time too!) It’s hard to enjoy your beach vacation worrying about your dog (or dogs) at home! Now, you don’t have to. We welcome all trained and well mannered pups aboard our H2O Limo, the first ever completely Dog Friendly Water Taxi in our area of South West Florida. Just be sure to bring their leash, observe all the leash laws on the island and remember their water bowls. Ground stakes with tie outs plus a collapsible shelter ensures a great beach vacation for you and your pet and don’t forget a pooper scooper (which might be elaborate or might be a simple paper towel and ziploc bag.)

On our H20 Limo, we have adequate coverage for everyone and bathroom facilities onboard the vessel for your convenience. We also have grills and will supply coolers for your day trips. We are proud to announce that a dog friendly water taxi service is finally here and you can visit Cayo Costa from beautiful Punta Gorda on a comfortable boat and on your own time schedule! Our licensed Captains are ready to take you and your family around to all the pristine islands as well as the historic coastal towns of your choosing. Woof woof!!! While we do suggest floatation devices for your pets, it is certainly not a legal requirement. It is good to remember that all dogs are not swimmers, contrary to popular belief. We love dogs here at Gulf Island Tours and have rescued Greyhound dogs and have seen many that cannot swim at all. It’s better to be safe than sorry! Even strong swimmers can get caught in a current. Also, please keep in mind that dogs can get easily overheated on the beach, especially if they are black, and it is our intention for everyone to have a safe and wonderful vacation with Gulf Island Tours so always keep plenty of water for you and yourets.  Bookmark our page at http://www.GulfislandTours.com or quick and easy access to our webpages!

Yacht Charter Sanibel Island

When people think about booking  a Yacht Charter to Sanibel Island they are usually interested in having a great time swimming and sunning on their vacation but without question, the main reason people love Sanibel Island is to hunt for the wonderful and abundant treasures from the sea......seashells!

Seashells are found in two distinctive varieties. The first is the gastropod which is basically a single shell and includes such species as conchs, olive shells and whelks. The other main types are bivalves, such as scallops, clams and oysters, which live within two hinged shells. The empty seashells you find on the beaches at Sanibel or Captiva Islands were once were home to mollusks which are soft-tissued animals that lived inside. Mollusks secrete a liquid that eventually hardens around them and this builds the shell. As the animals grow larger, their shells grow right along with them. There also have special glands which create distinctive color pigments before new layers of shell harden.

Shells and their inhabitants play an important role in the ecology of the barrier island beaches. In addition to providing food for birds and fish, the scavenging and filtering action performed by certain types of mollusks help to cleanse the waters of the Gulf! Not only that, they help to keep the sand neatly in place because the wave actions crush down bits of over time into smaller and smaller particles and this helps to replenish the sand on the beaches.

With a Sanibel Island Yacht Charter, you get to spend as much time as you like combing the beaches for shells! You are not limited by time and are on your own schedule. So the next time you want to have a truly leisurely visit to Sanibel, think about doing an overnight yacht charter at Sanibel Island and bookmark this page at www.YachtCharterSanibelIsland.com for quick reference to our website.
